Yellow mustard seeds organic are a staple in Indian, African and Asian cooking and work beautifully in sauces, dressings and chutneys. Use whole seeds for tempering (fried briefly in hot oil) to release their nutty, pungent flavour; grind them for homemade mustard or spice blends.

For batch pickling or large pots you may use approximately 40g; for everyday tempering in a household stew, dal or curry, 1–2 tsp (about 2–4g) is usually sufficient.

Allergens

MUSTARD. May contain traces of CELERY seeds and may also have come in contact with other allergens in the supply chain/packing.

Usage Tips

Tempering: crackle the seeds in hot oil until they pop to release aroma. Add to dals, pickles, chutneys and curries. Grind with a little water and vinegar for a quick homemade mustard, or toast and blend into dressings and rubs. Mix into mayonnaise for a zesty potato salad or scatter whole seeds into pan‑fried vegetables for texture.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Whole seeds retain flavour best—store up to 18–24 months for peak potency; ground mustard loses aroma faster (around 6 months). Keep away from heat and moisture and reseal packaging after each use.

Per 100g, yellow mustard seeds are a useful pantry staple: they provide dietary fibre and micronutrients such as magnesium and selenium, contain plant omega‑3 (ALA) and are rich in flavour so a little goes a long way.

Our organic yellow mustard seeds are sourced with sustainability in mind and available for refill to support zero‑waste shopping—perfect for customers wanting certified organic produce with reduced packaging and lower food‑miles.
