Welcome to The Village Refill
Where it all Began
Like many families, we wanted to do better — but finding plastic-free alternatives close to home was harder than it should have been. Toiletries, pantry staples, body care... everything came wrapped in plastic, with no easy way out.
During the first Covid lockdown in 2020, we stopped waiting for a solution and built one ourselves. The Village Refill started as a doorstep refill service — pulling up outside people's homes in our little electric van (itself rescued from a glamping website and given a second lease of life) and refilling their own containers with sustainably sourced, low-waste products. As the community grew, so did we — and we eventually put down roots at Yarnton Home & Garden, while keeping our mobile service running for those who love it.
Our definition of 'Village'
The word 'village' means something to us. It's not just where we're based — it's how we operate. A village is a place where people look out for one another, where small actions ripple outward, and where community is built one conversation at a time.
We believe the everyday choices we make — what we buy, how we shop, what we put back into the world — add up to something bigger. Together, we can make sustainable living the norm, not the exception.

We don't stock anything we wouldn't use ourselves. Every product on our shelves has been carefully researched to meet our sustainable standards — plastic-free, ethically sourced, and kind to the planet.
From organic rice and pasta to refillable cleaning liquids, herbs and spices to zero-waste beauty and makeup — our range spans food and non-food, all under one roof. We're proud to champion UK-made products and independent local suppliers wherever we can, because supporting small businesses is part of what sustainability means to us.

Sustainable living shouldn't be a privilege. Our mission is simple: to make low-waste shopping easy, affordable, and enjoyable for everyone — not just those with the time or means to seek it out.

What We Do
Think of us as your one-stop sustainable shop. We stock everything from organic cupboard staples to refillable cleaning products, zero-waste beauty to eco-friendly household essentials — all natural, cruelty-free, and the majority vegan.
Bring your own containers, or use ours — we provide donated containers and paper bags free of charge. Buy exactly what you need, unpackaged, with no waste and no fuss. Our products are sourced as locally as possible, with most coming from independent UK suppliers.
