Dried Elderberries (per 100g)

Elderberries are a popular ingredient in traditional medicine for treating infections, colds, and the flu.

Native to Europe, Elder is a deciduous shrub that bears clusters of white flowers, then the edible purple-black fruits. Both flowers and fruits are widely used in cosmetic, herbalist, jam and winemaking recipes. Used as a tonic, the tea supposedly protects against coughs and colds.

They add a tart burst of flavour to recipes.
