Za'atar (pronounced Zaah-tar) is most identified with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cooking.

Containing a blend of herbs, sesame seeds, sumac, and salt, this seasoning is highly regarded for its distinctive qualities and superior taste. With a robust flavour profile and satisfying texture, it also offers potential health advantages such as fighting inflammation and enhancing cognitive function.

Did you know that Za'atar, commonly used in middle eastern cuisine, is not only a blend of spices but also an actual herb related to wild thyme? This traditional blend often includes Mediterranean wild thyme for its distinct flavour.

How to Use

Use Za'atar to enhance the flavour of avocados and tomatoes when used as a snack with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, on homemade bread rolls, in breakfast eggs and spinach pasta, or as a dipping option mixed with olive oil.

Keep in a cool, dry place within an airtight container to preserve freshness and flavour.

Sacks of products containing allergens are opened and closed daily as we scoop and refill our shop dispensers. We use separate scoops for each product and store each product in its own container or original sack — however, products containing allergens are not stored or packed in a self-contained area.

This means all products may contain traces of allergens due to cross-contamination.

Where a product is indicated as free from a particular allergen, this means it has not been formulated from or wholly derived from that ingredient. Allergen handling procedures are in place throughout our supply chain to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, but this cannot be guaranteed.
