The Village Refill
Surgical Spirit
Surgical Spirit
Surgical Spirit - also known as rubbing alcohol or Isopropyl Alcohol. Used in a variety of Nancy Birtwhistle recipes.
It is a high-purity, fast-evaporating solvent widely used in natural cleaning formulations. It is also ideal for use in aftershaves, hand sanitizers, body sprays, room sprays, and melt and pour soaps.
First Aid:
Clear up small wounds with Rubbing Alcohol. Firstly, use a clean cotton pad or paper towel and pour a small amount of Rubbing Alcohol onto the material and apply it to the graze. Rubbing Alcohol disinfects the area around the wound and ensures bacteria is eliminated with minimal discomfort. Suitable for minor cuts, scrapes and burns.
It evaporates quickly, leaving near zero traces and is relatively safe, compared to alternative solvents. Thus, it is used widely as a solvent and as a cleaning fluid, especially for dissolving oils. When mixed with water, it can be used as an antiseptic.
