Storage, serving and bottle tips

Because this is a live drink, it is normal to see soft jelly-like strands or cloudy sediment in the bottle. These are harmless and can be strained out if you prefer a clearer pour.

Keep your bottle refrigerated to slow fermentation and preserve the taste. Once opened, enjoy within ten days for the best flavour.

  • Chill before serving for a brighter finish
  • Pour gently if you want to avoid sediment
  • Start with a small glass if you are new to kombucha

What to expect from fermented kombucha

Kombucha is a traditional fermented tea made with a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast, often called a SCOBY. During fermentation, much of the sugar is used up, leaving a tart, lightly sparkling drink with a refreshing edge.

As with many fermented foods and drinks, there may be trace alcohol present, but it remains below 0.5%.

How much kombucha should I drink?

If you are trying kombucha for the first time, begin with a small serving, such as two to three ounces, once or twice a day. If it suits you well, you can gradually increase your intake and find the amount that feels right.

Many people enjoy a modest glass in the morning or alongside a meal as part of a balanced routine.

Kombucha FAQ

What is the difference between raw kombucha and regular kombucha?

Raw kombucha is unpasteurised and still contains live cultures, which gives it a fresher, more active character than heat-treated alternatives.

Why are there bits in my bottle?

These are a natural part of the fermentation process and can be filtered out if you prefer. They do not affect the quality of the drink.

Can I reuse the bottle?

Yes. Return your bottle on your next order and we will credit the deposit to your customer account, helping keep our kombucha refills low waste.
