Bay leaves are whole dried leaves from the laurel tree with a warm, slightly floral, herbal aroma that gently lifts savoury dishes.

Use whole in soups, stews, braises, casseroles, pickles and slow‑cooked sauces; remove the leaf before serving. The leaves are used for flavour rather than texture, so they are typically added whole or lightly crushed to release essential oils rather than eaten.

Crush or crumble just before use for a brighter, more immediate flavour boost.

As a bulk foods store, despite maintaining a Five-Star Food Hygiene rating, the presence of allergens cannot be fully eliminated. Sacks of products containing allergens are opened and closed daily as we scoop and refill our shop dispensers. We use separate scoops for each product and store each product in its own container or original sack — however, products containing allergens are not stored or packed in a self-contained area.

This means all products may contain traces of allergens due to cross-contamination.

Where a product is indicated as free from a particular allergen, this means it has not been formulated from or wholly derived from that ingredient. Allergen handling procedures are in place throughout our supply chain to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, but this cannot be guaranteed.
